Introduction to searching scientific information from electronic databases​

In spring semester Library offers opportunity to take part of the web-based course „Introduction to searching scientific information from electronic databases“ (OP.1447).
The aim of this subject is to provide students with the opportunity to obtain basic knowledge and practical skills in order to use electron catalogues and databases.


In the result of successful studies of this course the student will be knowledgeable and able to:

  • use different services offered by the Estonian University of Life Sciences Library;
  • use e-catalogue ESTER, database of Estonian articles ISE (Index Scriptorium Estoniae), and the EULS Library digital repository DSpace;
  • systematically search for information and employ the principles of different search strategies in databases;
  • use document and citation manager RefWorks;
  • use databases in order to write research papers.

E-course is opened for registration until 02.02.2019, credit points 3 ECTS and the syllabus language is Estonian
(study period 25.- 34. weeks).
