Tarbeklaas from our homes

Vase EAGLE-OWL, 1985/86. Designed by Elve Tauts.

Our library celebrates the 102nd anniversary of the Republic of Estonia with an exhibition entitled “Tarbeklaas from our homes.” There is a wide spectrum of glassware from our employees' homes exhibited: glasses, jugs, vases, bowls, etc.

The glassware factory Tarbeklaas was active during the period of 1940–1993. The exhibition features glasswork from different decades and artists: Helga Kõrge, Ingi Vaher, Mirjam Maasikas, Pilvi Ojamaa, Eino Mäelt, Tiia-Lena Vilde, Elve Tauts, Villem Jalakas, Peeter Rudaš, Voldemar Soiver and Mihhail Mishalagin. There are also some exhibits from the Johannes Lorup`s glass factory which was the predecessor of the Tarbeklaas factory.

We will share stories about the idea of the exhibition and about the glassware on February 25 at 1 p.m.

We use the same vintage glassware to cover the table to celebrate the anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.

The exhibition is open from February 10 to February 29.

Let`s value Estonian design!

Happy birthday, Estonia!
