Estonian artist Imat Suumann (1964) is known as a painter of landscapes and city views. At an exhibition displayed in the library, Imat presents printed works that are made digitally. The conceptual exhibition „Send-off of the Dörper“ is based on the Low German word Dörper and what role it may have played in the formation of the name Dorpat/Tartu.
The word Dörper has several meanings. For instance, it can mean villages, but it can also refer to a fictional character who wants to look better than he really is.
The exhibition is open until September 27th at the Estonian University of Life Sciences Library.
You are very welcome!
