Silver Vahtre was born on March 13, 1953, in Tartu. He studied at the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR, graduating in 1977 as a designer. 

 

Silver Vahtre is a designer, urban artist, printmaker, theatre and film artist. He has taught graphics and composition in Estonia and Finland and exhibited his works in Estonia and in other European countries, Japan, USA and Australia. 

 

The exhibition consists of two parts – “Collages of Tartu” and “Room of Living”. Silver Vahtre examines the relationship between the artificial environment and man in a graphic prism, highlights both visible and hidden aspects, and treats the city and its inhabitants as alternating and constantly renewed characters in an eternal grand performance.
