Eimar Kull’s photo exhibition The Carpet People

Copper Chafer (Protaetia cuprea). Photo author: Eimar Kull

The exhibition's title, "The Carpet People," is inspired by a book of the same name by Terry Pratchett, which humorously tells the story of insects living on a carpet.
Insects also inhabit moss carpets, snow carpets, and grass carpets.

Eimar Kull was born in Pärnu, where he still lives and works. He began taking photographs in his childhood. After a long break, he rediscovered photography in 2008 when he bought his first digital SLR camera.

"I photograph people, landscapes, still lifes... I love nature and its inhabitants. I would like to capture them all, but what fascinates me most is macro photography in nature. The world of insects is truly special. You can encounter them all year round. And if you learn to recognize them, further photography becomes easier. You know where the insect lives and how they are likely to behave. I hope that viewers will enjoy the stories my photos tell," says Eimar.

This exhibition has been created thanks to the photo competition held in 2022 by the journal Eesti Loodus (Estonian Nature).  Eimar Kull is the laureate of the special prize of the Estonian Natural History Museum.

In addition to 13 macro photographs, 13 entomological boxes with prepared "models" are also displayed.

Our sincere thanks to  Eimar Kull and the Estonian Natural History Museum.

The exhibition will be open at the Estonian University of Life Sciences Library from April 21 to June 20.

All who are interested are welcome.
