ISBNs are issued by the Publisher Portal (Kirjastajaportaal) of the National Library of Estonia.

The library mediates the issuance of ISBNs to members of the Estonian University of Life Sciences. The contact person in the Kirjastajaportaal is Heli Viira.

If you need an ISBN, contact heli.viira@emu.ee or 7313142 and be prepared to provide the following information:

• doctoral thesis 

1. author, title
2. either printed on paper (print file) and/or electronic (ie PDF, E-PUB, HTML, or any other format)

• textbook

1. author, title
2. either printed on paper (print file) and/or electronic (ie PDF, E-PUB, HTML, or any other format)
3. whether it publishes in several volumes 
4. whether it belongs to the series

• conference proceedings

1. title, editors/compilers
2. either printed on paper (print file) and/or electronic (ie PDF, E-PUB, HTML, or any other format)
3. whether it belongs to a series of conferences

But you can also:

Estonian University of Life Sciences as a publisher has an account in the Publisher Portal and you can order the creation of your personal user account there if:

• you ask Heli Viira heli.viira@emu.ee, the contact person of the Estonian University of Life Sciences library, to add yourself as a user. An invitation to join the Publisher Portal with an account activation link will be sent to your email address.
• you can contact the Publisher Portal kportaal@nlib.ee or isbn@nlib.ee. An invitation to join the Publisher Portal with an account activation link will be sent to your e-mail address, and when you log in to the portal, your data will be linked to the account of the Estonian University of Life Sciences as a publisher.

And by the way, we also apply for ISSNs for periodicals (newspaper, magazine, etc.)!
