The Estonian digital infrastructure for research and cultural data was included in the Estonian Research Infrastructure Roadmap in 2024, and it is funded for the period 2025–2029 through the national research infrastructure support scheme (TARISTU24-TK17).
The coordinating research and development institution for the infrastructure is the Estonian Literary Museum. It is led by Mari Väina.

The digital infrastructure is a consortium formed to collaborate between ten institutions:

  • Estonian Literary Museum (master project executor, coordinator)
  • Tallinn University
  • University of Tartu
  • Cybernetica AS
  • Estonian University of Life Sciences
  • Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre
  • Estonian Libraries Network Consortium
  • Estonian National Museum
  • The e-Governance Academy
  • Tallinn University of Technology

The infrastructure works in synergy with the three modules:

  • HUM Data Lab
  • E-varamu
  • DataCite Estonia

The DataCite Estonia module is led by Liisi Lembinen (Head of DataCite Estonia). It involves the members of the DataCite Estonia consortiumlink opens in new page: the University of Tartu, Tallinn University, TalTech, and the Estonian University of Life Sciences.

As the representative of the Estonian University of Life Sciences in the DataCite Estonia consortium, the Estonian University of Life Sciences Library ensures the international visibility and discoverability of Estonian research data through repository and DOI services, and supports the implementation of open science and data management principles.
