Reference management tools

Reference management software makes it possible to manage sources according to your own needs and preferences. With reference managers, you can quickly and easily insert citations into a document you are writing and automatically generate a bibliography from the added references.

We recommend the following:

Mendeley is a free reference management tool that allows you to:

  • create your own library of references that is easy to organise and manage;
  • read, annotate, and add notes and comments to PDF files included in your references;
  • quickly insert in-text citations while writing and generate a reference list with a single click;
  • connect with other researchers in your field, create your own research group, or join existing ones.
